My first night back in New York City as a single woman began with ordering groceries straight from my phone. After living in Trinidad for the past two and a half years, grocery shopping in New York City feels completely different. In Trinidad, I would drive my car to the grocery store and even go directly to the chicken slaughterhouse to buy fresh cut chicken. Now I'm back in a walkable city with no car. So I'm back in the world of convenience where I can order everything from my phone and have it delivered straight to my apartment. Since my refrigerator and completely empty, a full grocery restock was order of business. As a plus size model in New York City, I'm constantly running between castings, fittings, and events. So I'm rarely home long enough to cook elaborate meal. I stocked up on convenience foods. I'll actually eat like eggs, waffles, grapes, Red Baron Pizza for those nights I wanna spend ordering in, but don't wanna spend the money.
