You can buy an iconic red British phone box for just £1 to save it from being removed. ☎️🇬🇧 Through BT’s Adopt a Kiosk scheme, communities, charities and some landowners can take ownership of underused red phone boxes for £1 once they are no longer needed as public payphones. More than 5,000 communities have already taken part, transforming the kiosks into everything from libraries and museums to coffee shops and food banks. The scheme was launched to preserve the historic phone boxes as their use continues to decline. Across the UK, adopted kiosks have also been converted into life saving defibrillator stations, book exchanges and even the world’s smallest nightclub.
