Like everybody else on the internet, I am learning how to knit and I'm doing so by knitting the step-by-step sweater by Florence Miller. And here is my progress so far. So I will preface this by saying I have knit before. I knit scarves and kid and baby blankets. And I have not knit in like five years. So I basically do feel like I'm learning how to knit and I've never knit a garment or anything in the round. So I think the instructions have been very good. And there's definitely some mistakes here which is making my perfectionist eye kind of twitch, but it's my first time. So I chose to do the folded collar and I did do the German short rows because I thought I was learning. And it really wasn't that hard. I just watched the video quite a few times. I'm using the Caron Macchiato Cakes in the shade Sunny. And it's a really pretty yarn and it's not too expensive, which I thought was great for a first project in case I'm not successful with it. So here's my progress on the yoke. How do y'all try these on? 80 centimeter needles because I can't like I can get it over my head, but I can't stretch it out to see how it looks. So if you have any advice there, let me know. But I'm about six rows away from splitting off for the sleeves. We'll see my counts are wrong. I had to decrease three stitches to make sure that I can get to the exact 252 stitches and because of that, I'm gonna have two more rows. I know that doesn't make a lot of sense, but I'm hoping it all comes out good and I did it right because I suck at math. So here's my progress. I will share an update once I've split off for the sleeves and start working on the body. But I really like it so far and I'm very proud of someone who's only ever knit something flat. Yay!
