I've been asked to do an entry-level jobs edition. So here are six roles that you can start with no advanced degree required. Starting off with more admin roles, number one we have Patient Access or Intake Specialist. You are going to be the first person that is going to greet the patient. You are going to collect all of their demographic information, insurance information, you're going to verify their coverage, and you're also going to be scheduling any follow-up or other necessary appointments that they may need. The good thing about this role, and I've actually worked a similar role to this in the past, is that you're going to pick up a lot of medical terminology really fast, or if you already have a background in health sciences then this is definitely going to come easier to you. And it's a really nice opportunity just to work your way up either at a clinic, an urgent care, a private practice, any of those things. Okay, next we have a medical receptionist or a Patient Service Representative. The thing about this job is that it's very fast-paced and you're going to learn a lot. Not only are you going to learn about health-related terminology and processes and all of that, but you're just going to learn overall good management skills. These roles tend to be kind of the person that runs the clinic, manages all of the phone system, routes the inquiries to the proper clinic or hospital or physician. It's really a great place to get comfortable in a healthcare environment, and a role like this definitely allows you to build really important relationships with the physicians that you work with or the providers that you work with and the patients as well. And I know that this role can definitely be a stepping stone to let's say a more broad career in healthcare administration. And the last of the more admin roles, we have a Health Information Technician. And in this role you are verifying all of the patient data, you're reviewing all of their health records for accuracy, and you're making sure that all of the digital filing systems comply with all the policies and laws that they need to. If you are someone that really likes detail-oriented work, then this is a perfect position for you to explore. This is also a really great stepping stone to more advanced roles in different types of industries, even in clinical research, as half of what we do is essentially work with filing systems for important documentation. So having any of these admin roles, you gain a lot of skills not only in health-related things, but just in management systems and organizing and time management, which are crucial skills for any other role that you want. And the last three roles on this list are a little bit more clinical supporting task and they may require a short certification. But I'm actually going to be splitting this video because otherwise it'll be too long, so stay tuned for part two.
