niche careers for people who love science but dislike academia

I spent six years as a scientist and now I'm looking for careers outside of academia. And now I've come across three careers that I'm gonna give the pros and cons for if you love science but you don't wanna be an academic. This first one is a science writer or technical writer. A science writer is actually a journalist that writes about upcoming science and how it impacts our daily lives and how it impacts our social situations. Technical writers, on the other hand, are people that write manuals, guides for technology or for certain equipment. This is a great career for people that are really creative and really love writing. However, a con is that whenever I told people, oh, I wanna be a science writer or I wanna be a science journalist, I wanna be a technical writer, a lot of people say, AI is gonna take your job. So take that with a grain of salt. Second one is my current position, which is a research administrator. This is great for people that wanna be directly involved in research but don't wanna actually be conducting the research themselves. I'm spending a lot of time with budgets and protocols and emails, basically ensuring that behind the scenes work of the research and the clerical work of the research is kind of put on one person instead of on everyone else in the lab. This is also great if you want to transition into program management, which is a very lucrative and growing field right now. However, the con for this is that people really need to be enjoying the clerical work. You need to like working with Microsoft Office, you need to like sending emails. And the last one, this is a very niche but really growing field right now is science communicator or just being in communications and focusing on research or science. There are multiple ways you can do this with writing, videos, infographics, magazines. And a great pro of this is that there's a lot of flexibility and a lot of creativity that goes into these projects. However, job opportunities can be very limited nowadays. Or it can be self funded. Aka you start your own organization, you start your own newsletter, etcetera, and then you have to apply for additional funding after the fact. Unless you go into social media and you get your funds that way. Which is also something that a lot of people have been doing recently. These are all jobs and internships that I have gotten over the past few years. I would love to know if anyone has any other jobs that they've considered outside of academia.
