and we‘re back with more #bodytype styling tips! hourglass girlies this time⏳ and remember: these arent rules, but tips, and whatever you feel comfortable in should define what you‘re wearing💌🤍 #stylingtips #fashiontips #falloutfit There's one thing that all people with good personal style have in common. They know how to dress for their body type. You want to master your personal style, you need to know how to work with your proportions. Today we're talking about the hourglass body type, specifically how to dress for it and fall winter. You're likely to have an hourglass shape if your shoulders and hips have a similar ratio and your waist is smaller and prominent. These tips aren't meant as a limitation on what you can wear, but understanding your proportions so you can feel more confident when shopping and styling your outfits. With an hourglass body type, your biggest advantage is already built in. In fall winter, the biggest challenge is usually handling all these layers. Sweaters, coats, scarves can add a lot of visual volume. Often times we are missing some definition, which we can keep really well by highlighting the waist. Unless you intentionally want an oversized silhouette that is also really fine. But if you've ever put on a winter outfit and felt like your shape completely disappeared, it's probably because there's no contrast in the layers. Basically, your waist is your anchor. One of my favorite pieces for an hourglass body type in fall winter is a belted coat. For tops like knits and just everything generally, the front tuck is a really big styling tool because again, the tuck really works as an anchor. High rise trousers, straight leg jeans, and longer fluid silhouette can all work beautifully because they really create a long vertical line. Which brings me to one styling trick that works especially well with hourglass body types: the rule of thirds. Instead of splitting your outfit in top and bottom like 50/50, try creating one long visual line and cut the outfit in three thirds. This way you're creating some length without losing the shape of your body. Your waist is your anchor and most importantly, wear whatever makes you feel good. Let me know which following winter styling trends you have, which body type I should do next <3
