Juicy Dumpling just opened up in Charlotte so naturally my hubby and I had to check it out. I'm obsessed with Din Tai Fung so when Juicy Dumpling opened up, we knew we had to try it to see if it was just like Din Tai Fung. And because we're psycho foodies, we're definitely ordering everything on the menu. Starting with shrimp chow mein and chicken fried rice. And let me tell you, this chow mein was so freaking good because I always love the idea of chow mein but it's never very flavorful so I never end up liking it. But this chow mein was my favorite thing that we had. The fried rice was really good as well, but their soy sauce was top notch. So go ahead and drench your rice in that soy sauce. Next up was spicy wontons and chili oil, but they definitely needed a good mixy mixy. These were good, they definitely didn't knock my socks off, but they were good. Next, I'm gonna put the name of these on the screen because I definitely do not know how to pronounce these. I had high hopes for these bad boys, but they honestly were my least favorite thing that we had. Next to last item is the shrimp pork and chive dumplings. These were really good, not as good as the noodles and the fried rice though. And now my favorite part and actually the reason I came is for their chocolate dumplings because I wanted to see if they were like Din Tai Fung and they were so dang good. Definitely different vibes, but I'm already planning my next trip to come back and just get these. Overall, 10 out of 10 recommend. If you are anywhere near here, definitely check this place out.
