The iPhone Duo is a 5.4 inch phone closed and a 7.6 inch screen open, 50 percent bigger than the 18 Pro Max. Split view, pinned video, nano texture display, and Apple Pencil on both screens. Here's the math nobody's doing though. An iPhone 18 Pro Max is $1,299 and an iPad mini with the same storage is $699. That's $1,998. The Duo is $1,999. Apple priced it one dollar above buying both, so this isn't a price decision, it's whether you want one device or two. Two things I have opinions on: Touch ID instead of Face ID on a two thousand dollar phone, and the Pencil support not shipping until later this year. Would I replace my iPad? For travel, yes. For real work, no. Preorders open October 16.
