1. Every day - it needs consistency to work. 18+ months in with no intention to stop. Before you start, it’s important to understand the cause of your loss to make sure it’s not from something that needs targeted treatment like iron deficiency or thyroid disease 2. Directly to a dry scalp - not the hair. I find that making 5 little lines down my scalp is the easiest. I don’t measure it, it’s not an exact science, but it probably averages to ~1/2 cap 3. 5% foam - the foam is less drying and irritating than the liquid solution. The liquid can be easier to apply with longer hair through. 5% also just works better, don’t waste your money on anything less. 4. By Itself - Applying tretinoin and microneedling, can boost the response of minoxidil , especially if you aren’t seeing any results. Some people’s hair doesn’t have enough of the enzyme required to activate minoxidil. Tretinoin has been theorized to boost that enzyme but oral minoxidil is also a good workaround. I just prefer to keep the process quick and simple. And it’s working well enough for me 5. In the morning or as soon as I get home from work - I used to apply it right before bed but then it would rub on my pillows and transfer to my cheeks more 6. Once a day - I started w twice a day but I started growing more hair on the rest of my face, plus it made my hair too greasy so I’m back to once a day Do Not Use If Pregnant Or Breastfeeding. Keep Away From Pets, Especially Cats. #minoxidil #rogaine #hairloss #dermatologist
