I am the CEO of my household my husband is the CFO. And COO. Recently I've had to navigate a disagreement amongst the executive team, primarily between me and the CFO. As we approach Q4, organization need to consider the upcoming holiday season, but two of our customers will be renewing their annual contracts, one in October, the other in early December. As a result, I presented my strategic vision, which includes facility enhancements, seasonal programming and a comprehensive gifting strategy to our most loyal customers. After hearing the vision, as CFO Expressed a few concerns regarding the financial resources required to properly execute my vision. He recommended that I scale back some of the aspects in order to maintain certain reserves. I reminded him that as CEO, my responsibility is to establish the vision and his responsibility as CFO. Is to figure out how to fund it. I also noted that if the organization is experiencing budget constraints, to evaluate payroll, specifically fringe benefits and golf memberships. After further discussion, the CFO Noted he would re evaluate the numbers and ensure my vision was fully funded. I am so proud we successfully collaborate as an executive team.
