SHELL ORACLE by SHIO KONG Artist Shio Kong creates one-of-a-kind handmade objects under the name Shell Oracle, transforming natural seashells into surreal ocular relics and wearable sculptures. Each piece begins with a real shell, but inside its smooth organic surface Kong creates an incredibly detailed human eye, complete with eyelids, lashes and reflections that make it appear almost alive. Pearls, chains and metallic elements are then added, turning the shell into a strange piece of jewelry. The combination creates an unexpected hybrid: part marine object, part human anatomy, part ornament.
