We’re happy his sister Macy went back to her owners, but we can’t help but wonder why they didn’t take Fat Boy back, knowing what awaits him at the shelter 😔 Fat Boy is a 2 year old German Shepherd who was brought into the shelter as an owner surrender after he and his sister were reportedly seen loose and chasing cats. Both dogs were involved in an incident where a cat was attacked and later found deceased. It’s suspected that his sister was the one who actually killed the cat, but because Fat Boy was present, he was given a Known History of Aggression disclosure and is now RESCUE ONLY. At the shelter, Fat Boy has shown a completely different side. He’s described as loose and wiggly with people, easy to retrieve from his kennel, calm while being leashed, and comfortable being pet by handlers. During his dog assessment, he was initially neutral with other dogs but did target and lunge at a submissive male before immediately stopping when handlers intervened. He was then paired with a female dog and coexisted peacefully with her for the remainder of the session. Because of this, a calm female dog is recommended if he lives with another dog. No cats and an adults only home are recommended.
