I wanted a REAL bacon, egg & cheese biscuit. Not McDonald’s. Not a huge chain. I wanted somebody’s grandma-in-the-kitchen, made-from-scratch, put-some-love-in-it biscuit. 😂 So I found The Great Biscuit & Spice Co. in Saginaw, TX… and BABY—this is exactly why I say SHOP SMALL. 🙌🏾 I was a little apprehensive walking in because I’d never been there and I don’t really know the area, but the second I stepped inside, it felt like somebody’s home kitchen. The owners gave me straight Grandma 👵🏻& Grandpa 👨🏻‍🦳 vibes. 🥹❤️ He made my bacon, egg & cheese biscuit to order while telling me all about the store—the spices, homemade pickles, homemade milk bread and everything they make. He wasn’t rushing me or treating me like another transaction. He took his time, talked to me and made me feel genuinely welcome. Then his lovely wife showed me her commercial photography studio and even invited me to come back anytime I wanted to film content or record a podcast there. 🥹 Like… WHO ARE THESE SWEET PEOPLE?! And the BISCUIT?! 😮‍💨🥓🍳🧀 Made FROM SCRATCH. Real eggs. Real bacon. Flour. Milk. No artificial mess. No unnecessary chemicals. Just FOOD… made with LOVE. THIS is why it’s important to learn your community. THIS is why I shop small. THIS is why I love finding locally owned businesses. You don’t just spend money—you meet your neighbors, hear their stories and discover gems you would’ve driven right past going to another big chain. The Great Biscuit & Spice Co. has officially been added to my rotation. 💯 If you’re anywhere in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, take the trip out to Saginaw and check them out.
