CHINA BUILDS OWN CHIP LITHOGRAPHY MACHINE

America had one plan to slow China down: block them from buying the machine that makes the world's most advanced chips. Last week, that plan fell apart. This machine, a lithography machine, is like the world's most advanced etching printer. It etches billions of tiny computer circuits onto every chip, every phone, laptop, AI or AI model. It starts here. For years, only one Dutch company, ASML, knew how to make these. That's why the US and the Netherlands stopped China from buying them. The idea was simple: no machine, no advanced chips. But last week, a Chinese company, Shanghai Aishengna Electronic Technology, started making its own lithography machine. Here's the twist: many engineers on this project came from Huawei, a firm the US has tried to block from advanced chips. China isn't ASML yet. They'll make about five machines this year versus ASML's 130. ASML's tech is still ahead. But the market took this seriously. ASML's stock dropped 12% in two days.
