This video game character and this robot are being controlled by the exact same AI. For decades, every move of a video game character to makes had to be animated by hand, wired together, but NVIDIA just built something that could skip all that. They trained a model on 700 hours of motion capture, walking, fighting, climbing, and sitting down. Now an animator simply marks where the character should end up, or points at the chair it should sit in, and the AI invents the movement between. It generates two milliseconds, fast enough to keep up with the game running live. Then they loaded this same system onto a real humanoid robot, and it walked. NVIDIA also released the motion publicly. So this isn't one means 700 movement, both in the characters in our game and the robots of the future. Subscribe for more tech inside scoops!
