I literally just got sexually assaulted at the subway station at Central Park. The guy was literally waiting down there so I purposely didn't go down that side, right? So I went down this side. As I walked halfway, he decided to come up and he trapped me, basically. And literally assaulted me, put his hands under my dress. I put the report in and it took the cops almost two hours to come and help me. Literally, be careful, be aware. Like I was so cautious already. That's why I went down the other side to avoid him. But it still happened. This could happen to any of us. I'm literally still shaking and in shock that this happened to me. I see videos like this all the time and never once thought it would happen to me. I'm usually extremely aware of my surroundings, but sometimes, no matter how careful you are, you can still become someone's target. This man was clearly waiting in the area and watching for someone to target. I tried my best to avoid him by going down the other side, but it still happened.

I see videos like this all the time and never once thought it would happen to me. I’m usually extremely aware of my surroundings, but sometimes, no matter how careful you are, you can still become someone’s target. This man was clearly waiting in the area and watching for someone to target. I tried my best to avoid him by going down the other side, but it still happened. I immediately called 911 and filed a report. This happened at 2:10 PM. I called 911 at 2:17 PM, and I didn’t receive help until around 3:45 PM. That was after we eventually walked to the precinct ourselves looking for help. I was very clear about my location: the 5th Ave–59th St train station, between 5th and 6th Ave, directly across from The Plaza Hotel. Somehow, there was confusion about my location and they sent officers to Brooklyn. @Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani do better! I’m sharing this because I want other women to be aware. You can be in broad daylight, in one of the busiest parts of NYC, surrounded by people, and still become a target. I never thought I would have to make a video like this, but if sharing what happened to me makes even one woman more aware of her surroundings or helps prevent this from happening to someone else, then it’s worth sharing.
