Taylor Mazer creates detailed pen-and-ink drawings where light becomes part of the reveal. By masking sections of the paper with tape, he preserves bright areas while building the surrounding architecture and deep shadows. As the tape peels away, those untouched sections appear as sunlight cutting through the darkness. Sharp edges and strong contrasts suddenly connect, giving the finished drawing a sense of space and atmosphere.
