Hook
I was robbed this morning. I'm safe and okay. There's two reasons that I want to share this story with you. One, awareness, because I never thought this would happen. I never thought I would be robbed this way. Two, the man that helped me deserves recognition. I pray this gets across his feed somehow. Thank you so much, Richard, for taking time out of your morning to help a girl in distress. 7:25 in the morning, I just finished pumping gas. I had Sasha and Shaggy in the back of my car. I opened back up my driver side window. I see my bag and my phone being lifted into the air. It happened within at least 10 to 15 seconds. It was so fast. But I said, "Hey, stop!" and ran. Again, probably shouldn't have done that because I didn't know if he had a weapon. And in the moment, I that's my one regret is moving towards them. He jumped back in the car. I banged, this is my wound from banging and then it like scraping and I said, "Stop!" and they just sped away. It all happened within 15 seconds. And within that moment, I lost all material things. I'm safe and that's what matters. But yeah, phone, keys, my apartment, all my cards, license, all the things you keep in a purse, right? In that moment, I'm in complete shock. I look up and I see Richard. I didn't know at the time, obviously. And he just looks at me. And I'm like, "They took my phone." That was the first thing I thought because I was like, I can't contact anyone. He pulls up. First thing this man says to me, "You're safe. You're safe and okay, and that's what matters." And I needed someone saying that because I wasn't thinking about that. And then he was so kind and he gave me his phone. He said, "Call someone." So I called my parents and I called the police. And then he gave me back my phone, brought me to myself like, this man is actually a guardian angel. State Trooper came, gave my statement, did the whole police report thing. I got my lock changed, canceled all my cards, have a new phone. The one thing I can't even really think about is if they were to have taken my car with the two dogs in them, like I can't even get into that. But I'm safe. I'll be okay. I'm definitely in shock and still feel adrenaline like pulsing through me, but it's all good. Everything materialistic can be replaced, but my life can't. So I'm really glad that I'm okay.
