Tanya Gomelskaya combines oil painting and sculpture to create figures that seem to escape their frames. Painted bodies meet sculpted hands and limbs, with fingers gripping the edges and arms reaching into the space beyond the picture. The effect isn’t just painted perspective. Parts of the artwork physically extend outward, while carefully matched colors and details make the transition between painting and sculpture difficult to spot.
