How can an area of skin that has no feeling itch so bad? This is literally me all day long. Itch, itch, itch, itch, itch, it's so itchy. And I forgot my freaking trimmer on this trip. Gross. Drives me crazy. Don't you see me doing this? Just mind your business. January of this year, my dog bit me on my nose and my lip. He took basically the entire tip of my nose and my lip was split. You can see kind of like this all the way down. So what they did was a forehead flap procedure. This is like a little illustration. Me during phase one of the forehead flap procedure. Phase two and phase three. A lot of people ask why wouldn't they take the skin from here. When they flipped it over, it just wouldn't have reached. So I needed it to come all the way down here. So that's why this part of my scalp, right there, it like kind of looks like an arrow. That part is that part. It's why there's hair on my nose. I have had several laser hair removal treatments, but that's not a forever thing. I do use Nair sometimes and like just shave it to keep up with it. The gray color will also go away. It's like that because the blood vessels were just disrupted in this last surgery that I had a month ago. The debulking surgery is just to essentially thin out all of this tissue. So you see how this side is like a lot more bulky than this side. It's because we still have to do this side. Hey, my name is Joshua and I was attacked by my family's two pit bulls seventeen years ago. It's been seventeen years and sixty-two surgeries later. Two suicide attempts later. I have depression, I have PTSD, I have severe anxiety and yet I love to speak. I love to share my story. And I haven't always wanted to do that, but life seemed hopeless. It was important for me to figure out my purpose and understand that no one can create purpose for me. It it's up to me to create purpose for myself. And my purpose is is I kept fighting to be alive. To share my gifts. To share my love. My tears with someone else. And to give them hope. Hi, my name's Kelly and two weeks ago, something happened that changed my life. Something I thought would never happen to me happened. I was attacked by one of my dogs and that attack resulted in injuries to my right arm and my face, including the loss, partial loss of my right upper lip. Everything happened really fast. It was devastating. It still feels devastating. But what I'm learning is that healing is so much more than just your body healing physically. It's also mentally and emotionally healing and becoming more mentally strong than I ever have been. We're trying to become to get through this. I'm still here and I'm still me. It's been three weeks since the attack. So a couple of wins, I guess. The positive is I do feel like my lip is looking better. The doctor has said everything is healing really well. This week, it's taken a bit of a turning point. All of the sutures have come out, all of the scabs have come off. If you look, it's not nearly as red and swollen as it has been over the last two weeks. The pain is pretty much gone as well, which is good. I do have some nerve pain, but that's normal just given the type of injury. I also made some progress with my arm. I also went back to the office this week. I admittedly was pretty anxious about going. I don't know what exactly I was anxious about. I think it was mostly just having to be around people all day long while I'm still dealing with all of my emotions. Everyone was just really welcoming. They were glad to see me back in the office. I felt better at the end of the day. It was nice to be social and for people to just talk with me about normal things so that I wasn't focusing all day on what I've been going through.
