Gizmo has been here so long he’s officially been added to the payroll 🥺 After waiting for a home since July, our 2-year-old brindle boy decided it was time to start helping around the shelter. Today Gizmo helped our animal care team open the shelter, sorted through toy donations, learned how his daily Purina meals are prepared, and after a very productive morning, clocked out with a bone and a well-deserved nap. ❤️ Employee of the month? Absolutely. But we’d much rather see him unemployed. 🥺 Two-year-old Gizmo thought he had found his forever home. Six months ago, this sweet boy was adopted from our shelter and finally got the happy ending he deserved. Sadly, life had other plans. Through no fault of his own, Gizmo was returned when his owner could no longer care for him. Now he's back where he started, trying to understand why the family he loved is no longer by his side. Gizmo is friendly, affectionate and playful, loves belly rubs, and is both treat and toy motivated. He LOVES playing fetch, knows “sit” and “drop it,” has been working on even more commands with our team and would be a wonderful companion for an active family ready to continue helping him learn. As much as we appreciate the extra set of paws around here, Gizmo deserves a much better job... being someone’s best friend. ❤️ If you’d like to adopt Gizmo, please complete a pre-adoption application on our website (link in bio) and come meet him at the Humane Society of Broward County.
