I may have made this coolest Halloween soap ever. And the funny thing is, it actually started with wanting to make house soaps for realtors. I've been wanting to make a soap bar that looked like a house. because we do quite a few gift baskets for real estate agents. And I thought the little house shaped soap would be the cutest little house warming gift. But I had such trouble finding a mold or a soap scraper that gave me the look I wanted. But then I came across this scraper from Elysian Acres Soap and I cannot tell you how quickly I bought it when I saw it. I've been trying to come up with something fun and different for the holidays. Suddenly it hit me, a haunted house. I have been ridiculously excited and obsessive about the soap concept. Well, these before we can even get to the haunted part, though. We have to make the house. I wanted the base to be a really deep spooky purple. So I used deep purple mica with a little bit of activated charcoal to darken it up. And then when I went to put my micas away, I saw our cosmetic glitter sitting there all sad, and obviously it needed to be in the haunted house. The soap will be apple cinnamon scented, so it's a perfect fall blend of sweet and warm. Once I got the batter exactly the color I wanted, I poured it into the molds and then gave it a few minutes to set up. Once it was thick enough, I was able to scrape it and it went so well. This little soap scraper is absolutely amazing. I had so much fun making this soap, and probably cause I've been thinking about it for so long and I'm just so excited to finally be making it. This is just the first step in the process of making these into little haunted house soaps. We still have to cut them, let them harden, and then stamp them into our little haunted houses.
