I don't think we let ourselves get bored anymore. We're constantly busy, constantly distracted, and I think it's killing our creativity because we're never giving our minds space to wander. So I booked myself a sort of mini creative retreat with my reMarkable Paper Pure, my digital notepad, in a treehouse in the middle of nowhere for 48 hours as a sort of experiment to see if giving myself one space to think would actually help. I'm dyslexic and writing things out by hand has always been how I actually process stuff way more than typing ever has. I did it all through school and uni and then somewhere along the way, once everything moved onto my phone, I just stopped. And having one place that's just for thinking that isn't also my inbox and my camera roll and 50 other apps has genuinely reminded me how much I need that kind of space to actually be creative. I also downloaded the Artist's Way, which I've been meaning to start forever, and was actually able to read through it slowly, taking notes without getting distracted. The treehouse was the perfect place to journal, too. Going out on walks always helps clear my head, and then getting cozy at the end of the day writing. I particularly love the write-to-text feature so I could take all my messy ideas and actually organize them into something readable. And even now I'm back home, I can still look through everything I wrote out there, organized in one place. So yeah, if your ideas need a little bit of space too, I'd really recommend the reMarkable Paper Pure as somewhere you can keep all your ideas together, organized, without distraction, instead of being on your phone.
