how I read four books in 14 days and you can too because I know it was on our 2020 resolution to read more books and stop doom scrolling and these are tangible tips that you can actually apply. Number one, I'm gonna give credit where credit is due. An e-reader completely changes the game. And let me tell you why. One, get yourself an e-reader. My e-reader, Kindle Paperwhite 7, $179 (w/out ads). It's a completely separate device just to read, which kind of just separates you from the distraction. This thing is so portable and easy to flip through. So for me, when I'm sitting down to eat, usually I would watch TV, but now I just read with a physical book. It's really hard to eat and just so mobile. You can literally read anywhere. I read in my bed before going to sleep, when I'm in line somewhere, I pull it out. All those little things add up, even in the morning when I wake up instead of scrolling, I will do this. And I'll tell you how I stop myself from scrolling next. Another thing about e-readers though is that they will tell you like three minutes left 'til the chapter ends. And that for me is really motivating to just keep reading. If you do not have an e-reader and are not planning to get one, take your physical book. Use these little tabs to tab when the next chapter is coming or to how much wanna read 50 pages. I will mark it pink, but to the next chapter, I'll mark it blue. So then I just know like, okay, I have to go to the blue, but my end of the day goal is the pink. This little device is the best money I have ever spent because let's admit it, we're all addicted to our phones and we literally need to be cuffed up. And this is what this does. I've tried the apps, Opal, all the other ones. This is the only thing that works because it's something physical. I put it on my fridge before I go to bed. I lock up my phone and go to my room. Physical barrier of having to get up and do it really stops me from doom scrolling. So I will lock my phone up and force myself to read. Lastly, just like exercise, a gym girly or being someone that works out, you have to make time for the gym. It has to be a non-negotiable. So we'll be reading and in order to do that, you're going to have to give up on certain things. Typically that's like doom scrolling or TV. And for me, I jokingly say dating because I haven't gone on dates in a few weeks and your girls become literate and just haven't been able to read. That's really addictive. That's typically what, but it's typically what is finding a book that maybe isn't super substantive, but it's just addicting. Here are the four books I read. If you wanna see a review of them, go to my last video. Try these tips and report back when you have become a little reader, cause I know you will. And if you have any other helpful tips, leave it in the comments for the girlies.
