I just realized there aren't seeds inside a carrot?? Are carrots man made?! Wth I just realized there aren't seeds inside a carrot. Our carrot is the hell? Look, we have such a distrust in this country, of America, of our food to question everything. As we should. Because I do think it is important that we understand the history of our food and what we're eating. So this picture, this is me holding one of those little baby carrot plants. I harvested this a couple of years ago. If you look of the plant, you'll see this green. These are the leaves. And so you keep letting these grow, they're going to produce a flower. So this isn't my picture, but that carrot keep growing, it can grow these flowers. Now, here's a close up of those flowers. These are carrot flowers. You have to keep letting the carrot plant grow past the point we would consume it so that these flowers can develop on it. Flowers are at the end of they are going to start to produce the seeds. These are the carrot seeds. And they look. If you've ever seen carrot seeds in real life, this is exactly what they look like. So to answer, no, carrots are not man made. We consume the root of the carrot. So we're not familiar with the rest of the plant. Because we don't consume the rest. Typically we consume the root. So there's the answer to your question. And I also want to say this real quick. Food, like our vegetables. They're not man made. They're cultivated. Our ancestors were taking vegetables in their gardens way back before we knew anything about the science of any of this. And they were breeding new varieties of plants. It man made. We just were able to innovate it. And actually, most of the food that we eat today is not the natural state that the plant would have been thousands of years ago. We as humans had to cultivate it to become what we eat today. If y'all want more content like this, do a deeper a cleaner video. But I love type of stuff, so I love me questions like this.
