CNBC Flights disrupted into Newark, New York, Philadelphia after Verizon cable cut

There are no flights in or out of Newark Airport, and flights just stopped landing at LaGuardia. Not my opinion. That is a live look. CNBC news. Airline reporter. Leslie Josephs joining us on the news. Leslie, thanks for hopping on. What do we know about what's going on, what's not going on? Well, not a lot of flights are going on at the moment. The last inbounds we've seen in Newark was late morning, several hours. Inbound flights from Europe, other international flights had to divert to Boston, as far as Detroit, to Washington, D.C. And what we just heard from Verizon, which has a fiber-optic line running to this FAA facility that is responsible for guiding the traffic in and out of Newark. There was a fiber-optic cable that was running adjacent to an Amtrak line in New Jersey. Construction contractors were working there, dug up and cut the cable. Verizon says they are, they have no responsibility for the incident, and we expect to hear from the FAA very shortly.
