I spent years making sure my children had everything they needed. Somewhere along the way, I stopped asking what I needed. I'm 53, and after raising three children on my own, I wanted more than a quiet seat on the sidelines. I wanted to join in—even when that meant learning a dance with my son 💛 Taking care of myself started with three small changes: 🏋️♀️ 1. Strength training Light dumbbells, simple movements, and showing up again. I stopped chasing exhausting workouts and started building strength I could use in everyday life. 🔋 2. Making time for my morning routine I used to accept feeling drained by early afternoon as a normal part of aging. Then I learned that NAD—a molecule our cells use for energy metabolism—can decline by nearly half by the age of 50. (I linked the one I use every day in my bio) 😴 3. Protecting my sleep A regular bedtime. A cool, dark room. Putting the phone down instead of finding one more thing to do for everyone else. I still love taking care of my family. I've just learned to include myself in that care, too. There's still time to get stronger, try something new, and make memories you're actually part of. Comment ENERGY and I'll send you exactly what I use and swear by 💛 (Follow first so it doesn't land in your hidden requests) I'm not a doctor, I'm just your average 53 year old. #womenover50 #dance #fitover50 #healthyaging #usa🇺🇸
