YALL COME EAT it’s my viral sausage tortellini. 🤤 This recipe has nearly 5 million views on TikTok, so I thought it was time for an official step-by-step. 1. Cook 1 bag of tortellini according to the package directions. Drain and set aside. 2. Add 2 packs of sliced andouille sausage and cook until browned and heated through. Remove the sausage and set aside. 3. In the same skillet, add 1 small finely chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3–4 minutes. Add 2 cloves minced garlic and cook. Can you hear that? I love that sound. Now, once your sausage is browned, remove it from the pan and add about half an onion. Now there should be enough oil from the sausage to cook your onions, but if not, just add a little more. So you can use a white onion, a yellow onion. I even use a shallot when I can actually find those in the store. After a couple minutes, add some garlic. I'm using fresh, but just use the stuff from the jar, it's not. Next add your tomato paste, sun dried tomatoes, and cherry tomatoes. I don't really measure any of these plus Carter doesn't like tomatoes anyway because he's psycho, so I end up eating all of them anyway. Next, add one cup of heavy cream. My water is boiling, so I'm gonna add my tortellini. Now it's time to use my four key seasonings that I use on literally everything. Salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder. And the secret to making everything you cook taste good is smoked paprika. I don't make the rules. Here's where you'll add Italian seasoning. I just use dried oregano, basil and parsley. I like mine a little spicy, so I'm gonna add some crushed red pepper flakes. Once the sauce is this beautiful orange color, you're gonna wanna turn down the heat and add freshly grated parmesan. And if you haven't heard this, that prepackaged stuff is just not gonna cut it. Fresh is the way to go. Once the cheese is melted, you can add in your sausage and chopped spinach. Add in your tortellini. There you have it. That's my viral sausage tortellini.
