(new!) Red Velvet Traybake Recipe ❤️😋 I love red velvet so much thanks to the chocolate and vanilla combo, and the fact I think the vibrant colour looks so impressive (extra notes about how to achieve this on the blog post!) 😍 I have lots of other variations on my blog including a layer cake, cupcakes, truffles, mini cakes, brownies, cookies and more! This time, I’m sharing a traybake version, as requested by you which will feed a crowd, but keeps things nice and easy with only one layer topped with delicious cream cheese frosting! Perfection! ❤️ Full recipe, details & method on www.janespatisserie.com INGREDIENTS Cake 125 g unsalted butter 300 g caster sugar 3 medium eggs 1 heaped tsp red food colouring 1 tsp vanilla extract 30 g cocoa powder 300 g plain flour 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda 2 tsp white wine vinegar 250 ml buttermilk Topping 150 g unsalted butter (room temperature) 150 g icing sugar 300 g full fat cream cheese 1 tsp vanilla extract METHOD Preheat the oven to 170ºc/150ºc fan and line a deep 9” square tin with parchment paper Beat the butter and sugar together until combined Add the eggs, and mix Add the food colouring and vanilla and mix again Add the cocoa, flour, bicarb, vinegar and buttermilk and mix until combined Pour into the tin and bake for 45-50+ minutes Leave to cool fully in the tin Carefully trim the top slightly to have a bit of cake for decoration - I aim for a few spoonfuls of crumbs Beat the unsalted butter with the icing sugar until smooth Add the full-fat soft cheese and vanilla and beat again Slather over the top of the cake and sprinkle with cake crumbs #JanesPatisserie #RedVelvetCake #RedVelvetRecipes #CakeRecipes #TraybakeCake
