I think we talk a lot about intimacy like it automatically means sex… but sometimes intimacy is simply feeling wanted by the person you love. It’s the random kiss when you walk past each other. The hand on their leg in the car. Laying your head on their chest for no reason. Reaching for their hand. Sitting a little closer on the couch. Hugging them from behind while they’re doing something. Looking at them in a way that reminds them, yeah… I still choose you. And sometimes your partner may not know how to explain that they’re missing those things. They’re not necessarily asking for more sex. They may be asking, “Do you still desire me? Do you still think about touching me? Do you still want to be close to me when you don’t need anything from me?” We all want to feel chosen. We all want reassurance sometimes. And just because someone doesn’t constantly ask for affection doesn’t mean they don’t need it. That’s why conversations like this matter. Instead of assuming you already know what makes your partner feel loved, ask them. Ask what makes them feel wanted. Ask what they’ve been missing. Ask if there’s something you used to do in the beginning that slowly disappeared once life got comfortable and busy. And when they’re vulnerable enough to tell you, try not to immediately defend yourself. Listen first. Because sometimes your person isn’t saying, “You don’t love me.” They’re saying, “I know you love me… I just miss feeling it in this way.” There’s a difference. 🤎 Never get so comfortable being loved that you stop intentionally loving your person in the ways they can actually feel. #RelationshipTalk #intimacy #HealthyLove #couplegoals #datingadvice
