Trump's Education Department is cutting off student loans for degrees whose graduates earn too little. 🎓💰 The Trump administration has introduced new rules that tie access to federal student loans to the earnings of graduates. Under the policy, degree programmes could lose access to federal loans if their graduates consistently earn less than benchmark workers with lower levels of education. Programmes that analysts say could be most at risk include: • Cosmetology • Massage therapy and bodywork • Culinary arts • Medical and dental assisting • Religious studies • Social work and mental health counselling • Fine and studio arts • Music • Graphic design • English literature • Early childhood education Supporters argue taxpayers should not be funding courses that leave students with debt they struggle to repay. Critics say the policy could disproportionately affect lower-paying but socially valuable professions such as teaching, social work, counselling and the arts. Under the rules, programmes that fail the earnings test for two out of three years could lose eligibility for federal student loans, with enforcement expected to begin in 2027. #ThisIsMoney #Money #News #UK
