When I was 15 years old, I had a baby. I was also married and we became homeless shortly after that. A grumpy old veteran who I barely knew offered for us to move in with him. His name's Anthony. Anthony has stayed in my life for 24 years. He called me today and asked me if I would bring him some grilled cheese sandwiches. So we're making him some grilled cheese sandwiches. He took care of me when I was a homeless kid. And even though he was grumpy and an alcoholic, he showed me the unconditional love of a father and I am forever grateful to him. He never asked for anything in return and he doesn't like praise. He's a hermit, hardly ever leaves his house, doesn't talk much at all. So when he asks me for grilled cheese, I'm jumping. He's an actual angel. I'll take you with me to meet him today. If he's not too grumpy, I'll get a video. You're going to love him.
