Why it worked

The video uses a relatable 'emergency' scenario to demonstrate the utility of a service, making the promotional content feel like a helpful tip rather than a standard advertisement.

Summary

The creator demonstrates how she uses Amazon.co.za to order household essentials like toilet paper while in a remote location. She highlights a promotional discount code and the platform's fast delivery service.

Structure

1Creator establishes remote location
2Problem: ran out of toilet paper
3Solution: Amazon.co.za app demo
4Highlighting delivery speed and discount
5Call to action with promo code

Product placement

(a) Amazon.co.za ACTS: the creator demonstrates the interface, uses it to search for and purchase toilet paper, and shows the delivery result. Removing it would change the entire premise of the video. (b) Baby Soft appears as the specific product being purchased; removing it would not change the video's purpose as it is a generic item being used to demonstrate the Amazon service.
