Games that made you feel guilty for winning. In Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, you play as a spy trying to steal General Tarkov's access card. But there's one problem. To get it, you have to kill Tarkov, a general who sees you as his best friend. While Tarkov is turned away talking on the phone, you secretly poison his coffee. When he turns around, he picks up the other cup and invites you to drink with him, so you reload the save and try again. But no matter which cup you poison, Tarkov always chooses the safe one. You start to realize that this can't just be luck, because Tarkov seems to know exactly which cup to avoid every single time. That's when you notice a photo of his late wife behind him. You compliment her to distract him, and while he's turned around talking about his wife, you quickly switch the two cups. This time, Tarkov drinks the poison, but instead of calling the guards or confronting you, he quietly hands you his access card and reveals that he already knows you're a spy. As the poison takes effect, he uses the last of his strength to knock over the coffee, destroying the evidence that you poisoned him. And that's when you realize why he always picked the safe cup. The reflection from the photo and metals behind him let him see exactly what you were doing. He knew the entire time. He wasn't getting lucky or falling for your trick. He just saw how badly you wanted to complete the mission and chose to let you do it.
