HERE'S THE ONE THING ABOUT PIGEON FORGE

Here's the one thing about Pigeon Forge. It's usually not the hotel room that breaks the hell out of your wallet. It's everything after you check in. So I checked into the Drury Plaza in Pigeon Forge thinking I'd booked just another old hotel room. And then the hotel bought my dinner. Every evening they've got this thing called the 5:30 Kickback. Hot food, soft drinks, and even beer, wine, and mixed drinks for adults. And it's included with your stay. And then when I wake up the next morning, I get fed again. Yep, hot breakfast is included too. Now hold on. Breakfast for everybody cost money. Dinner cost money. Parking cost money. And here all three of those are included. And that's when the room rate starts looking a hell of a lot different to me. And you're not giving up the hotel part to get the freebies. The rooms have a microwave and fridge and there's also a fitness center, an indoor pool and splash pad, and an outdoor spa. And you're right in Pigeon Forge near The Island, Dollywood, and everything else you're coming here to do. Gatlinburg's only about 10 miles down the road. And with fall here and Pigeon Forge Christmas right behind it, I'm paying a whole lot more attention to what the hotel includes.
