Hook
Dearest Lord, we entrust Xavier to your undying mercy and love. Hugs and tears broke the silence at Benjamin Franklin High School in a moment where words just weren't enough. I don't want to say thank you so much for this. It shows the love that he had. Thank you. Hundreds from the community filled the entrance with flowers, candles, and memories, honoring 17-year-old senior Xavier Nungaray. I just can't believe he's gone. Friends remember him as funny and kind and someone who could always make them laugh. It just hurts to see him go like that, man. Like I really love him and I miss him so much. It's just hard, man. His family came with a message, holding signs reading Stop the Hate, End Bullying, and If You See Something, Say Something. His stepmom says Xavier was bullied throughout high school but was hesitant to speak up. He was scared that he was going to end up getting punished instead of the bully. So yes, he was bullied. Family members also pointed to a video of a fight circulating online, saying it happened shortly before Xavier fell off a fourth-floor balcony to his death on Wednesday. Police have not said what led up to the fall. Students who returned to school Thursday say the loss was felt throughout campus. There was like really nobody in all of my classes today. It's it's really hard coming back to something like like this. We will always be here for you guys. LAUSD kept the school open with grief counselors and mental health professionals available. Xavier's family says they disagree with holding classes just one day after his death. Very upset. That's why I was here this morning to talk to the principal. She never show up. Tonight, his friends are hoping their loss leaves others with the message. Don't be afraid to talk to someone. If you're going through something, even like even if it's just to talk, man, talk to somebody if you're feeling down.
