The woman was watching porn on her phone and did not brake before she slammed into the back of a car, causing a chain reaction crash that took the life of a man. Now the woman is from Rosemead. She was traveling on the 15 freeway there in the state of Utah when this crash happened. Now, according to court documents that I have reviewed, there was construction ahead. She didn't slow, according to court documents, and slammed into the back of one of the cars. That's the website prosecutors say she was on just two minutes, less than two minutes rather, before the crash. They say after the crash, she admitted to investigators that she was at fault. She surrendered her phone, according to court documents, and through a search warrant, they were able to identify that she was on that pornographic website just moments before the crash. As a result of that, they have charged her with a particular type of homicide. It's a homicide in the state of Utah where it's categorized as you caused a fatal crash, a deadly crash, while using your phone or a device. So, it's not necessarily because she was watching porn, it was because, allegedly, she was on her phone in the moments leading up to that crash. And again, the investigation revealed there were no brake marks, according to prosecutors. She has been served, or they are attempting to serve her with the summons to appear in court in Utah in November on this homicide.
