1. Missing them doesn’t mean no contact is wrong. It means you’re attached. Attachment doesn’t disappear just because you made a decision. You can miss someone and still know contact isn’t healthy for you right now. 2. An urge is not an instruction. Your phone can be in your hand before you even realize you’ve opened their profile. That’s the habit talking. Pause. Feel the urge. Don’t obey it automatically. 3. You’re going to romanticize them. Your brain may start showing you the highlight reel. The laugh. The first kiss. The good mornings. The moments when everything felt safe. Don’t let nostalgia erase the entire story. You don’t need to hate them. You just need to remember accurately. 4. You’re going to mistake silence for rejection. Their silence may trigger every fear you’ve ever had about being forgotten, replaced, or not being enough. But you don’t actually know what their silence means. And you don’t need to solve that uncertainty tonight. 5. Eventually, you’re going to realize something terrifyingly freeing. You can have a thought about them… and not do anything about it. You can miss them… and keep moving. You can love them… and still choose distance. You can wonder what they’re doing… and return your attention to your own life. That’s when no contact starts becoming healing instead of punishment. Because the goal was never: “How long can I go without talking to them?” The goal is: “How long can I go without abandoning myself because I miss them?” That’s the real work. And one day, the silence won’t feel like you’re waiting for them anymore. It will simply feel like you’re finally listening to yourself.
