I'm a vet nurse and here are five things I would never buy my dogs in B&M. First up are these chicken dumbbell treats. They look really appealing and the packaging is nice, but they do contain raw hide, which is something I would never give my dogs. So these are a big no from me. Next are these buffalo horns. These are so hard that not only could they fracture your dog's teeth, but the sharp edges, once chewed, can cause quite a lot of trauma to your dog's mouth and gums, and large pieces could pose as a choking risk or cause gastrointestinal blockages if swallowed. Number three are these pressed raw hide rings. I personally would never give my dogs raw hide because some chemicals used to clean and preserve raw hide can be harmful to dogs, and if it's swallowed in large pieces, again, it can be a major choking risk or possibly cause intestinal blockages. Number four are these tennis balls. I know a lot of dogs love tennis balls, but that yellow fuzzy coating acts like sandpaper on your dog's teeth, gradually wearing them down, damaging the enamel and overall tooth structure. They're also not the most durable of toys, and I have seen too many surgeries to remove pieces of tennis balls from dog's stomachs that I would never risk giving these to my dogs. And lastly are these bamboo bones. Just because they are marketed as chewable bones doesn't mean that they are good for your dog's teeth. Hard chews like these can fracture your dog's teeth, so my advice is to always do the fingernail test, which is if you can't make a dent in a chew with your fingernail, it is probably too hard for your dog's teeth. Let me know in the comments, have you ever bought any of these products for your dogs? And come back for part two to see which items I would buy in B&M's for my dogs.
