Do you remember that Marine that was arrested for the murder and robbery of that Japanese woman? Well, his actions are having a massive effect on the forces in Japan. After he was arrested, US Forces Japan ordered a 48-hour operational pause for service members across the island, sort of a safety stand down. Now, have you ever been in a situation like this? Has anything kind of big happened where they've locked you down or stood down for a couple of days? Uh, hit share, hit repost, let's see if we can get some folks talking about this, let's see what the situation is like on the ground. They're saying that this pause is for standards, discipline, and responsibilities training, which you know what that's going to turn into. The Marine Corps also imposed a 48-hour alcohol ban and a curfew from midnight to 5:00AM that's going to run for 30 days. Everybody's being very clear that they're making sure that they know this is only for the troops, not for civilians or family members. The accused, Devin Ballard, the 20-year-old Lance Corporal, he's assigned to Marine Corps station over there. He's in, he's still in custody with Japanese law enforcement, okay? He's denying everything. The Third Marine Expeditionary Force Commander, Lieutenant General Benjamin Watson, ordered the, the curfew and the alcohol ban and stuff like that. So 30,000 of the roughly 55,000 US service members in Japan are on Okinawa. This is a huge deal. I've never really seen anything like this in my career. I'd love to know your thoughts on it as well.
