Let's paint my dog. All right, so we've been getting a lot of questions about how we paint our Xoloitzcuintle. You want to make sure that your dog's all nice and clean dog. Valiente's already been taken care of, but we just use some regular pet wipes that we get from PetSmart, just to make sure we get all the dirt and debris off of them, just get a nice clean surface to paint on. One of the biggest things people comment so far is getting the dog to stay still. I like to pick a time where he's kind of ready to lay down. Our dog, we're pretty fortunate with Valiente, he likes to just kind of lay down and sleep most of the day anyhow. He's a pretty calm dog, but we've been doing this now for about two and a half, maybe three weeks. So just kind of getting the dog used to it, getting used to touch. Today we're going to be using the Posca markers. I'll go over these a little bit more in detail on why we choose to use these, but you can use acrylic based paint. I would use a cheaper end paint that's not going to have a whole bunch of binders and chemicals in it. Aside from that, tempera paint's probably going to be the best option to use for the dogs. It is more of like a natural paint, just pigment mixed in egg yolk. We use the Posca markers, they are a water-based acrylic paint marker. They are non-toxic, though they haven't been tested on skin. If you're going to use it on your dog, I would recommend just leaving it on for a day. Try it on on little spots and kind of see how your dog's skin handles it. All right, enough talking, let's get to some painting.
