Why do Asian people eat dogs?

Why do Asian people eat dogs? Now this is a serious question. Ever since I made this channel I've gotten so many comments joking about me cooking my dog. I actually have two little dogs and they're both really cute. And of course I would never turn them into food. It wouldn't be too much on them to eat anyways. All jokes aside, something that people don't understand about Asian history is that we grew up through many, many famines and a lot of them were very recent. My grandparents actually went through one of the most recent famines in Chinese history. Even though he had a good government job, he was still only able to afford meat once out of the year. But a lot of our other Asian friends were not so lucky. And when you're faced with the starvation of your entire family, it was eat or die, literally. Now these days dog meat is significantly less popular. I've had it once before in my life and it's not the best meat to eat. It's very tough, gamey, and chewy. If I was ever presented with the option to eat it again, I wouldn't. It's not because I think the people who have eaten it are disgusting. I like to remind you, I have two little dogs that I love. But I also understand when you're in a famine and you're eating stuff like tree bark to stay alive, you gotta do what you can. Let me know if you guys enjoy this video.
