Why it worked
The video relies on the 'expectation vs. reality' humor trope, contrasting high-effort aesthetic costumes with a low-effort, relatable, and slightly absurd male costume.
Summary
The video presents a humorous comparison between elaborate, stylized Halloween costumes for women and a simple, DIY-style Captain America costume for men.
Structure
- 1Display of various stylized female Halloween costumes
- 2Transition to a man wearing a homemade Captain America costume
- 3Montage of the man walking in his costume in various locations
