Visuals: Supplied: ALS Paramedics
ALS Paramedics County have seen a cash-in-transit
robbery and bombing which occurred on the roadway
from the M4 Southern Freeway towards Umlazi Mega City.
As you can see, the cash-in-transit
was blown up, apparently multiple times as per the witnesses.
And it is believed that a shootout
ensued between SAPS and private security, as well as the suspects.
I am informed that three suspects have sustained gunshot wounds.
I believe two have been declared deceased by paramedics
not too far from this location.
Of the three guards, two have sustained injuries ranging
from minor to moderate and are being attended to by ALS paramedics.
Now the roadway is closed from both directions,
coming from the M4 Southern Freeway as well as Umlazi
Mega City and will be for quite some time,
so I'd advise motorists to avoid this area at all costs.
Obviously, all necessary personnel are on attendance and
investigations will continue. This is near
Umlazi Mega City, coming off the Southern Freeway towards
Mega City or coming from Mega City to join the
M4 Southern Freeway. Thank you.
