Hook
I have a lot on my brain right now, so we're going to talk about it because I can't I can't let it fester in there any longer. Something that I'm starting to notice in the dating pool, and I'm not starting to notice this, I've been noticing it, is the following dynamic is very prevalent. I'm going to use me for example. I have my masters in accounting, I have a great job, I also do influencing on the side. I side like I do side hustles like dog sitting, very ambitious, very career-driven, very motivated. I go to the gym regular regularly, like I take care of myself, I cook for myself, I am extremely self-sufficient. Almost every single guy that I've dated has made less money than me, been less educated, been less smart, is extremely coddled by their parents like beyond belief. And growing up, my parents did not coddle me. They were like, you they're like, you need to get your shit done, like we don't care, like get it done or don't, but like you're going to be a loser if not. And I know that the comments are going to be like, oh, this is just the guys that you're choosing. I don't think so. I think that there is an extreme like education gap and like expectations gap and like just overall like competency gap between the men and women these days. All of my friends are extremely self-sufficient, most of them are extremely self-sufficient, can do literally anything and everything. And it's not even like like I'm not saying that like the men I've dated are stupid, it's that they weren't willing to try. Like they they wanted someone else to do it for them. Like they're extremely coddled, extremely like babied. And I like I don't get it. Like I was a girl and I feel like I should have been babied and I was not babied as a child. And even if I was babied as a child, like I grew up and realized that no one's going to clean up my messes. I don't know, maybe I'm just like ranting. I'm definitely just ranting, but it's just something that I'm seeing that I'm honestly sick of and I am not going to be with a man that I have to take care of in any capacity. Obviously, I'm going to care for my partner and be there for him, but if I'm picking up the slack financially, intelligently, like socially, in every department, like no. And I feel like that's what I've been doing and it's honestly turned me off from dating because I am having to sacrifice something and I know you have to sacrifice something in dating, but I'm having to sacrifice more than I am willing to sacrifice. And so for that reason, I'm like, I'll just stay single. Like I don't need a man that badly. And it's also like like I've had men be like, oh like I can't afford to take you on dates. And it's like I'm in a position where I can take myself on dates and like I can afford to treat myself. Like how are you going to tell me that you can't give me something that I could give myself? And that's going to sound really wrong. Like I know that it's coming from a place of privilege and whatever, but it's like these men have nothing to offer me at this point is kind of what I'm saying. And I'm probably going to get canceled for everything I'm saying here, but like it's like I see it, like all of my friends see it, like the men are not keeping up with us. Oh, also, I'm bored to mention, I feel like I better the men that I'm with. Like I push them to go to the gym, I push them to eat healthier, like I cook for them and like I take them to church and stuff like that. And I look at me and I'm like, wait, how are you bettering me? Like you're making my life significantly worse. And yes, it's probably the partners that I'm choosing, 100%, but I do feel like the amount of men who like match me in every category, like there's there's few and far between. And then I'm 6'2 and it's just like I I give up.
