If I could go back in time and give myself one piece of advice about living with Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS), it would be to remind myself that HS IS NOT YOUR FAULT. 💜 Living with this skin condition can take such a toll on you physically, mentally, and emotionally. Your body is going through so many changes, you’re trying to understand what’s happening, and you’re figuring out how to care for yourself one day at a time. One thing I’ve learned throughout my journey is that there is so much power in our stories and experiences. Even after all these years, I’m still learning new things about myself, my body, and different ways to pour into myself. For a long time, I struggled with that. I carried so much shame about my skin that I didn’t always know how to give myself the love, patience, and compassion I deserved. Looking back, I wish I had been a little kinder to myself, but today, I’m learning to give myself that grace and recognize that those experiences have helped me learn, grow, and become the person I am throughout my HS journey. To all my HS warriors, the HS community, and anyone navigating their own journey in life, please remember to be gentle with yourself. Celebrate how far you’ve come, no matter how big or small those victories may seem. Your journey matters, your story is powerful, and you have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. We’re all still learning, growing, and finding different ways to care for ourselves along the way. Continue to give yourself grace, be patient with your body, and never forget that you are deserving of love, compassion, and understanding through every stage of your journey. You are so much more than your skin condition, and your HS does not take away from the beautiful person you are. 🥹💜 #HidradenitisSuppurativa #HSWarrior #HSAwareness #SelfLove #skincondition
