Original caption
Meet Jonathan, the incredible Seychelles giant tortoise believed to have been born around 1832, making him the oldest known living land animal in the world! Imagine living through nearly two centuries of history! Jonathan was already approximately 50 years old when he arrived on the island of Saint Helena in 1882. Since then, he has lived through two world wars, witnessed generations come and go, and seen the world transform in ways few living creatures ever could. At an astonishing 194 years old, Jonathan continues to enjoy life’s simple pleasures—basking in the warm sunshine, relaxing in his peaceful surroundings, and receiving loving care at Plantation House at Saint Helena island #turtle #animals #animal #cute #happy
