Sometimes you send. Sometimes you take a small tree directly to the anus. That’s this beautiful climbing game we play. That’s life. You can show up. Put in the work. Train hard. Prepare meticulously. Believe in yourself. Do absolutely everything right… And then, without warning: BOOM. Sapling. IN the ass. You didn’t deserve it. You didn’t plan for it. Shoot, you didn’t even consider it a possible outcome. You were too focused on the send. Too locked in. Too committed to greatness. Meanwhile, three feet behind you, a butt-threatening piece of vegetation had been quietly waiting its entire life for this exact moment. It grew from a seed. It survived winters. It endured storms. For this. Somewhere, deep in the forest, Mother Nature whispered: “Not today, Charlie. Especially with that poor excuse for a beard on your face.” But alas, adversity reveals character. And you best believe I’m coming back to this boulder with vengeance, focus, determination…and a small hacksaw. The project may have won the battle. But the sapling has made a very powerful enemy. @physivantage @cruxpowerclimbing @pitch.six @organicclimbing @fazabrushes @hardwoodholds @climbbutora #climbing #bouldering #sportclimbing #climbingtraining #strongertogether
