The Sun cannot actually explode like a supernova because it doesn't have enough mass. However, if something like that were possible, we wouldn't see it immediately. Sunlight takes about 8 minutes and 20 seconds to reach Earth, so for those first few minutes, everything would appear completely normal. Then, suddenly, the Sun would disappear from the sky. Without the Sun, Earth would instantly lose its primary source of light and heat. Temperatures would begin to drop rapidly, and over time, the planet would freeze. Earth would continue moving through space without the Sun's gravity to keep it in orbit. This is only a hypothetical scenario. In reality, the Sun will not explode as a supernova. Instead, billions of years from now, it will gradually expand into a red giant before ending its life as a white dwarf.
