As Earth approached a black hole, the planet would experience extreme tidal forces caused by the black hole's intense gravity. The side closest to the black hole would be pulled much more strongly than the far side, stretching Earth in a process known as spaghettification. The immense stress would fracture the crust, disrupt the mantle, and trigger widespread volcanic activity as molten rock rose to the surface. As the tidal forces intensified, Earth's structure would eventually fail completely. The planet would be torn apart into a stream of superheated rock and plasma spiraling toward the black hole. Rather than simply "sucking in" Earth, a black hole would destroy it through overwhelming gravitational forces.
